1. Scope of Application

These General Terms and Conditions (“GTC”) govern all sales of products and the provision of services by LUI & ELLE (“Company”) to its clients, whether individuals (B2C) or businesses (B2B) (“Client” or “Customer”).

By placing an order or booking a service, the Client agrees to these GTC in full. These GTC apply to all transactions conducted through our website, via email, in person at our studio, or through any other means of communication, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Specific deliverables, inclusions, and timelines for each product or service will be outlined in individual quotes or contracts, which supplement and form part of these GTC.

2. Products and Services

2.1 Products

LUI & ELLE offers a custom and curated selection of design objects and fashion pieces, including but not limited to:

  • Custom Fashion Items: Garments, Accessories, and Jewellery

  • Custom Interior Items: Furniture, Housewares, Lighting, and Art

  • Curated Fashion Items: Garments, Accessories, and Jewellery

  • Curated Interior Items: Furniture, Housewares, Lighting, and Art

All products are sold directly through LUI & ELLE. Specific details, production timelines, and delivery conditions are outlined in individual quotes and contracts. Returns for curated (non-custom) items are subject to the terms stated on the individual invoice or sales contract.

2.2 Services

LUI & ELLE provides specialised creative and styling services for individuals, brands, and businesses. These services include, but are not limited to:

  • Fashion Styling: Editorial, Commercial, and Personal

  • Interior Styling: Editorial, Commercial, and Event

  • Visual Merchandising: Fashion, Accessories, and Homeware

  • Window Displays: Retail, Commercial, Showroom

Each service can be booked as a Basic, Premium, or Deluxe package, depending on the scope and requirements of the project. Detailed inclusions, pricing, and timelines for each package are provided in separate service package documents and individual contracts, which form an integral part of these GTC.

All services are quoted exclusive of VAT (currently 25.5%). Additional travel costs may apply for work conducted outside the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Rush fees may apply for expedited timelines.

3. Orders and Booking

Orders may be placed in person, by phone, by email, or via the LUI & ELLE website. The Client is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their order.

Orders are confirmed only upon written acceptance by LUI & ELLE and receipt of any required deposit.

3.1 Custom Orders and Services

All custom projects require a written agreement and are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted total. Production begins only after approval of design specifications and payment of the deposit. Revisions beyond those stipulated in the agreement may incur additional fees.

3.2 Studio Space Rentals

Rental fees must be paid in advance to confirm the booking (refer to Section 10.2). A security deposit may be required and is refundable after inspection of the premises following the rental period.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in Euros (€) and exclude VAT (currently 25.5%) unless otherwise stated. Additional costs (e.g., transport, outsourced work / labour) will be invoiced separately.

Payments may be made via bank transfer, PayPal, credit card, or any other method agreed upon in writing.

Standard items are listed with fixed prices on our website, catalog or shop. Custom work is priced according to scope and complexity, and a deposit of 50% is due upon order confirmation. Final payment for custom projects is due upon completion and prior to delivery.

Late payments shall accrue interest at the statutory late payment interest rate applicable in Finland (currently 12.5% per annum for business transactions, and 11,5% for customer transactions). Interest is calculated daily from the payment due date until full payment is received. In addition, the Client shall be liable for statutory compensation for recovery costs in accordance with applicable law. Non-payment may result in order cancellation and suspension of services.

5. Shipping, Delivery, and Pick-Up

We ship products and custom works within the European Union using trusted delivery partners (e.g., Posti, DHL, FedEx). Delivery costs are calculated at checkout or quoted separately.

For large items, door-to-door delivery or local pickup may be arranged. Delivery timelines vary depending on the nature of the order. Estimated timeframes are provided upon confirmation. Clients are responsible for customs duties, import taxes, and any additional local charges.

Services are delivered according to the schedule and specifications agreed in the individual contract or quote. LUI & ELLE commits to a best-efforts obligation; delays caused by the Client or by force majeure are not the responsibility of LUI & ELLE. Complaints must be submitted in writing within 5 business days of service delivery.

6. Returns and Cancellations

6.1 Products

Due to the custom nature of many of our products, returns are not accepted for customised or made-to-order items, except in cases of defects or significant deviations from the approved design.

For curated (non-custom) items, return terms will be stated on the individual invoice or sales contract, if applicable.

Damage during transit must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photo evidence. LUI & ELLE is not liable for any products damaged or lost during shipping. If you received your order damaged, please contact the shipment carrier to file a claim. We'll try our best to help you to file a claim.

Make sure to take multiple detailed photos from different angles that clearly show the damaged item, the packaging, and the box. Please save all packaging materials and damaged goods before filing a claim.

Cancellation by the Client after order acceptance (except in cases of force majeure) will result in forfeiture of the deposit. Non-refundable fees (e.g., material costs) remain payable regardless of cancellation timing.

6.2 Services

Cancellations of services must be made at least 5 business days in advance to be eligible for a partial refund of any amount paid beyond the non-refundable deposit. The 50% deposit remains non-refundable under all circumstances, including cancellation by the Client.

For studio rental cancellations, refer to Section 10.7.

7. Intellectual Property

All designs, artworks, concepts, and branding elements remain the intellectual property of LUI & ELLE unless explicitly transferred in writing. Clients may not reproduce or distribute our work without prior written consent. Commercial use of our designs requires a separate licensing agreement.

8. Liability

LUI & ELLE shall not be liable for delays or damages caused by force majeure, including natural disasters, pandemics, or supplier disruptions. Liability is limited to direct damages up to the value of the service ordered.

In the event of damage to client property during studio rentals, liability is limited to proven direct damages and capped at the rental fee. Clients must ensure that any third parties (e.g., event guests, photographers, film crews, etc.) comply with studio policies.

9. Warranties

Restored or up-cycled goods are sold “as is,” with documentation of their condition provided at the time of sale. LUI & ELLE guarantees that all custom orders will match the agreed-upon specifications; if they do not, a revision (as outlined in the agreement) will be provided.

10. Data Privacy

Personal data is collected and processed solely for order processing, communication, and marketing with client consent. Clients have the right to access, correct, or delete their data at any time.

11. Dispute Resolution

These GTC are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If resolution is not reached, disputes will be settled under Finnish law, with the courts of Helsinki having jurisdiction.

12. Amendments

LUI & ELLE reserves the right to update these General Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of material changes via the website or email. The version in effect at the time of order applies. If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
